Our Priorities
The National Black Empowerment Action Fund fights for policies and leaders to help Black people thrive. The primary issues we focus on are:
-
Black Americans for too long have been locked out of opportunities to accumulate wealth and establish economic security. We are committed to policies that empower Black businesses and families alike to thrive by creating good-paying jobs and generating economic activity in Black communities. We believe all Black people should have the resources they need to live fulfilling lives.
-
Education is a core driver of social equity and empowerment within Black communities. We support policies to ensure Black children have access to excellent educational options that nurture their personal and intellectual development. Whether it’s primary, secondary, or higher education, Black families deserve high-quality schools that will lead to positive life outcomes.
-
Public safety is the bedrock of a thriving Black community. We need to guarantee that Black families can live their lives safely while having their rights respected and protected. We support common-sense policies to keep our community safe, hold bad actors in law enforcement accountable, and end the over-incarceration of Black Americans.
